It is used to catch floating dirt and water-borne dirt. The basis of the combs is the frame in which the comb grid is placed. On the sides of the frame, guide rails are attached, in which the carriage with scraper rakes moves. The trolley also includes a rake lifting mechanism. This mechanism ensures all movements of the rake when wiping dirt from the comb grid, raising the rake when lowering the carriage to the lower position and extracting dirt from the comb grid. The combs do not consume electrical energy during their primary function, they are started only when it is necessary to clear sediment from the comb grid or the bottom of the channel (triggered by time or level).
